After several months in which the Los Angeles County Museum of Art was presumably doing good on its promise to re-prioritize and promote its threatened film program, my Save Film at LACMA partner, Debra Levine, and I have posted a new update on the museum’s progress: Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose, or “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”
I don’t attend the museum proper enough to justify that membership and a film club membership on top of it. I suspect there are others like me. I would join the film club if it were a separate membership.
Thanks, Glenn. Given that LACMA recently told us the film club fees (and box office profits) go to its general operating budget rather than the film program directly, I’m not all that eager to join, myself.
